The Foundation's specific interests
in each of the program categories are as follows:
PERFORMING
ARTS
~ The Foundation's
current major interests are opera and Shakespearean theater.
Applications are submitted at the invitation of the Foundation
only.
ENVIRONMENT
& ECOLOGY
~ The Foundation supports
programs to protect threatened areas and species, education
programs (particularly directed towards youth), and support
of collaborative organizations active in the field of ecological
concerns.
HISTORIC
INTEREST
~ The Foundation supports
programs throughout the world in three areas:
A. Preservation
and restoration of historic sites and objects;
B. Interpretation
of historic sites, objects and events; and
C. Preservation of the historic record through
research, oral histories, archival work, training of curators
and personnel, and dissemination of the historic record
through conferences and publications.
SPECIAL
PROJECTS
~ The Foundation's
Special Projects grants are made to programs of interest to
the Directors which do not fall within one of the aforementioned
regular program areas.
