 ~ The final total for the grants made by the Foundation during the year 2000 were 58 grants for a total of $990,270.  The Board of Directors authorized grants for 2001 in the amount of $887,500.00 and established a discretionary grant fund of $100,000.  [April 15, 2001]

~ The Foundation Directors elected Mr. Joseph W. Martin, Jr., as Director and Treasurer, effective April 4, 2001. Mr. Martin has been an investment advisor and counselor to the Foundation for over 20 years and has been involved in many Foundation activities. [April 4, 2001]

~ Donald D. Crawford, Jr., who served as a director and treasurer of the Foundation for 13 years, retired from the Foundation Board. [Effective December 31, 2000]
