Welcome to the L. J. Skaggs and Mary C. Skaggs Foundation website. I hope you will find the contents informative and enjoyable to read. We update the website in April and November of each year and wish to incorporate suggestions to make the site more "user friendly" and of service to the philanthropic community, our grantees and applicants for grants. Please contact us with any comments and observations you may have.

~ At its November, 2008, meeting, the Board of Directors reaffirmed the suspension of the active grant making program of the Foundation pending receipt of additional funding from the Skaggs estates.  We are unable at this time to determine when the Foundation will be able to resume its grant making program.  The Directors hope this can occur with 2011 grants.

Mrs. Skaggs' desire was to keep the Foundation in existence until additional funds were received. To accomplish this wish, she  agreed on her behalf and on behalf of her estate to underwrite the administrative expenses of the Foundation until the full active grant-making program can be resumed.  We continue to maintain the Program and Application Sections of this website, even though grants are not being awarded, so that future applicants can be aware of the current thoughts of the Board.  When Application for Grants can be accepted, this website will be further updated with an announcement to that effect.
